Research is proving the value to health and happiness to you and your community, of doing acts of charity, kindness, and being grateful to others who do act in a charitable way to you.

An excellent coaching skill is challenge where the coach seeks to stretch the client beyond self-imposed limits.

This may sound like the adage "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"-that's okay.

I challenge you to consciously act charitably whenever you can. Observe your environment and think what you can do to make it better. It may be small, medium or large, any size will do.

Then note if the recipient was grateful or not.

How did you feel when you did something good for someone else?

If you were genuinely thanked, did you appreciate it?

If you were rebuffed, how did you react? Of course I hope you were not negatively treated, but unfortunately some people don't thank you for your kind actions.

It would be another act of doing good to write me a note and share your experiences. E-mail or regular mail is okay.
